We appreciate their dedication to the work of the Lord.

Introducing

Mindy, Patricia, Alwanda, Sharon, Melody, Nita, and Charlene

My name is Patricia and I am a dedicated wife and mother of two. I have been married to my husband, Ricky, for 16 years. We worship in the same congregation that I grew up in and where I now teach Bible class. I was baptized in my early teen's and enjoyed attending church youth activities and church camp. I contribute my firm foundation in Christ to experiences in church camp as well as to the love and guidance of a faithful Christian family.

My family and I live in Alabama and we work in agriculture. Owning our own agriculture business enabled me to be a SAMH (stay at home mother) until my kids started school. During those years, I did cake baking and decorating and ran a home day care. Now that the kids are in school, I take a more active roll in our business and am currently serving as vice president of the County Poultry and Egg Association.

Being an active Christian, self-employed, with two children, doesn't leave as much time for hobbies as I'd like, but I am an avid genealogist! I love researching family roots, as well as historical issues. I enjoy learning about not only my ancestors, but also about the times in which they lived. This hobby is what brought me to the internet. I also enjoy hunting, writing, and I am a "Want -To-Be" quilter.

My name is Alwanda.  I have lived in Tennessee all my life. I have been married to William for 22 years.  We have two daughters, Leah,15, and Kiya Reed, 22.  We have two grandchildren, Jamel and Jade who bring a lot of joy to our lives.  I have been a Christian for 38 years and at age 48, the Word continues to renew my spirit each and every day.  My passion is sharing God's Word; encouraging others; visiting the sick and shut-in; working with the Union Mission and Prison Ministries; speaking at Ladies Day Seminars; writing spiritual poems; and creating spiritual greeting cards. You can find two lines of these greeting cards at the 21st Century Bookstore and Gospel Advocate in Nashville, TN.  The card lines are called:  The Rebirth-Day Collection and Sheep Gone Astray Collection.  I enjoy cross stitching; experiencing and trying new arts and crafts; cooking (especially baking breads, cakes, and pies); and having the opportunity to show hospitality.  There is one passion that is very important to me, and that is working in the mission field.  Pray with me that God one day grants me this opportunity.

Hi, my name is Mindy.  I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Scott, for almost 12 years.  We have been blessed with two wonderful children, Taylor and Austin.  Taylor, my daughter, is seven years old and Austin, my son, is four years old (almost a kindergartener!) I am the secretary for my church, 249 Church of Christ, in Houston.  I have my degree in education; however, I have been blessed to be able to stay at home with my children and now I bring my son with me to the church while I work.  My husband, besides being a full-time police officer with HPD, is the youth minister at our church as well.  We both feel extremely blessed by God.  He has seen to all our needs and led us in directions we would not have gone, of course we realized later that it was the best way!  I am learning daily, and I look forward to learning from all of you!

My name is Sharon.  My husband, Lamar, and I attend Austinville Church of Christ in Decatur, Alabama.

I was born in Alabama, but lived in south Texas most of my growing up years.  I was basically brought up in the Church of Christ in my youth, but fell away during my teen years.   We moved to Oklahoma when I was 15 and I moved to Alabama when I was 16.

I love to take pictures of friends, family, and scenery. I have done a lot of correspondence work with World Bible School for many years.  I like to collect recipes from friends and family and have started a family favorites cookbook.  I, also, like to correspond with pen pals all over the world, snailmail or email.  I like to send emails to encourage and uplift people.  My favorite thing to collect is anything to do with lighthouses.  It is so inspiring to know that Jesus is the light of the world.  He is our strength and salvation.  I want to encourage you to search the scriptures.  Visit the weblinks on the Christian Mirror website and also the Austinville website.  May God bless you as you search for the truth.  Mark 16:15-16

My name is Melody Huffman. I was blessed to be educated at Lubbock Christian from Kindergarten through 4 years of college. I grew up in the church with loving parents who prayed I would marry a preacher. August 1980, I married my husband who was a minister. We have served the Lord together in Midland, and Happy, Texas, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Salvador, Brazil. After Brazil we moved to Pecos, Texas where we served for 10 years. The latter years we began a Spanish speaking congregation. God has filled our cup with a large family, on 2 continents, that we love and appreciate. We have two boys. Micah, who is the father of our precious granddaughter born March 2002. Matthew, our youngest son, died at the age of 7 while we were missionaries in Salvador, Brazil.

We are now in Kermit, Texas working with the Eastside Church of Christ. We were contemplating beginning a Spanish work here but had not yet begun to do so when my husband was approached by a precious family who had been driving 100 miles roundtrip to worship in Spanish, asked if he would hold Spanish services here. So when God opened the door, we walked in.

I have taught children's Bible classes since I was 12. I have also taught
ladies' classes here and in Brazil. I have spoken at several Ladies'
Days in West Texas. I have given a couple of seminars on coping with the
loss of a child. I have helped with the jail ministry at the local jail since moving to Kermit.

I am presently a teacher's aide for grades 3-5. However, my favorite job is being a wife, mother, grandmother and help-meet to my husband in our ministry. I am blessed that my husband considers me a vital part of our ministry wherever we serve.

It is my prayer you will find comfort, guidance, fellowship on the Christian mirror website. May God bless each of you with every spiritual blessing possible. Love and prayers, Melody

My name is Nita  and I have been a member of the Lord's church for over 40 years. I love to cook, sew, crochet, paint, write, and I
love gardening. Even though I love gardening, this year I've decided that I've
grown up too much and it's not as fun as it used to be. I've found that
laying on my stomach to plant seedlings is going a bit far and I won't be
doing it next year. My back thanks me for this decision.

My husband and I currently attend the Camp Hill Church of Christ where we
serve as group leaders for fifteen of the families in the congregation. We
also serve as teachers and my husband substitutes occasionally as a preacher. In 1994, after 33 years of studying God's word as a lay person, I started teaching and participating in many women's activities. Activities such as: discussion facilitator, panelist, motivational speaker, ladies Bible class teacher, Christian woman's seminar committee member, facilitator, and finally keynote speaker at seminars and ladies retreats. Since then I have added writing to my repertoire.

One article that I have written was recently published in the May/June issue
of the Christian Woman magazine entitled, "The Colors of Love," and another is now on the Internet web site of Christian Mirror entitled, "The Trials of Women ." I have written a book entitled, "Lessons To Live By for Ladies': Bible Class or Personal Study". I anticipate it being published soon.

Twenty-five years after I graduated from high school I decided to go to college and in June 2000 was the salutatorian for my graduation, better known as student commencement speaker. Communication was my major. I hope to continue my schooling in Pennsylvania.

Last but not least I have three children, and four grandchildren. I love being a grandmother because when my grandchildren come to visit I know they
are going back home. Isn't that the neat part of living, when you get old
enough to be with children and yet you have the privilege to give them back?
I've also written a children's book entitled, "Now Who's Doing A Dumb Thing?".  I pray that God blesses me in all my endeavors and allows me to continue sharing his word through my writing. It is my privilege to work with such committed ladies.

My name is Charlene.  I am 28 years old, and have been married just over nine years to Dale Wilson.  We live in York, Nebraska (home of York College), and are currently in the midst of the "home study" process necessary to adopt a baby.

Dale and I worship at the East Hill Church of Christ.  I am the Internet Ministry coordinator for our congregation, and we've also been teaching the 3-5 year old class on Sunday mornings this summer. It was our first venture into teaching together, and with 12-15 precocious kids ever Sunday, we've had quite a summer!

I work from home as a web designer. Since 1991, I have been using my computer skills to create web sites and more for friends and family.  I have always wanted to work from home, because of the extra freedom it would give me as a wife and (eventually) mother.

In 1997, I designed a personal/commercial website called "Finding Delight".  Since its creation, Finding Delight has given me the opportunity to meet and help others with web and business challenges. Because demand continued to grow, I formed Delight Design in 1999 to help fill the needs of small businesses and individuals.

In January of 2001, I joined forces with my husband and our friends Ed and Karen Keegan to form Eternal Dimensions, Inc (EDI).  Our purpose statement reads, "To equip churches and individuals to more effectively communicate the Good News of Jesus Christ".  We design church and ministry websites at affordable prices, and offer print services like brochure design, bulletin re-design, etc.  We also have a special "sweet" line -  Heavenly Promises™ are personalized candy wrappers with a Christian message for all occasions!  Karen and I do most of the designing of the wrappers (the guys occasionally have a good idea!), and we are gearing up for several craft shows this fall.  We especially enjoy designing wrappers for babies and weddings, but you'll find all kinds of wrappers available!

I am so excited to be a part of the Christian Mirror volunteer team.  This site is something I believe in, and I am thrilled to be working on the re-design.  As of August 18th, there is still a lot of work to be done, but we're making progress.  I want to say a special thanks to Dwan for letting me take her "baby" and re-design it!

P.S.  If your home congregation needs a church website, be sure to visit EDI.  We want to help raise the level of what churches of Christ are doing on the web, and we have very affordable prices.  If you have any questions, you can email me at: char@eternaldimensionsinc.com

Several of our volunteers are not listed above. We thank the Lord for all of the sweet ladies who are involved in this ministry!!!

Volunteers needed - We are in need of a volunteer attorney, counselor/psychologist, and writers. If you are interested in serving in one of these areas, please contact us at christianmirror@bellsouth.net
